HORROR movies dominate this week’s new releases, with one based at a university, another in space and a third in a post-apocalyptic world.

Sorority Row: In this remake of the 1983 horror, a group of university students (Briana Evigan, Leah Pipes, Jamie Chung and Rumer Willis) accidentally kill a fellow sorority resident (Audrina Partridge) in a prank gone wrong.

They hide the evidence but a year later start being sent cellphone video footage from the night of the tragedy.

Carrie Fischer co-stars in the 99 minute horror which carries a 16 age restriction for nudity, language and violence and is opening at The Bridge.

Pandorum: Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster play two astronauts struggling to survive on a spaceship under attack from an unseen enemy.

The sci-fi suspense movie is directed by Christian Alvart and runs for 106 minutes.

It carries a 16 age restriction for violence and is only opening at The Boardwalk.

Zombieland: Columbus (Jesse Eissenberg), Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) are the only four survivors of an apocalyptic event, but discover they are not alone, as the world is full of flesh-eating zombies.

The film is a comedy horror parodying other zombie films and is directed by Gavin Polone.

It runs for 86 minutes, carries a 16 age restriction for language and violence and is only opening at Walmer Park.

August: Josh Hartnett and Adam Scott play two American brothers struggling to keep their dot.com business afloat in the difficult financial period just before the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

Robin Tunney, Naomi Harris and Emmanuelle Chriqui co-star in the 88-minute drama directed by Austin Chick, which is only opening at Uptown Theatres.
