‘Popstars’ judges  to be announced

SABC3, its sponsors and production company will announce the judging panel for the forthcoming South African Coca-Cola Popstars live on air on Sunday evening just before 7pm.

The details will be repeated an hour later.

The announcement will be in the nature of an introduction to the four judges, who, to retain consistency throughout the talent search, will be committed to the entire process, without vacations and without replacements!

Thus, there will be constant visibility of the judges at all times.

The scale of the project is massive as Coca-Cola Popstars will be the single biggest group talent search in South African TV history as the cameras follow the judging team around the country.

The producers have developed the most effective judging configuration, balancing strong foundations and aesthetic considerations and, as viewers will find out on Sunday, the judges are all highly credible personalities in their respective industries.

Collectively, they cover all criteria of the Popstars judging format.

The team will be conducting its search in major centres countrywide with the Eastern Cape auditions in Port Elizabeth on April 15 and 16.

The judges are committed to the format's credibility in that they maintain that the platform is less theirs than that of the performers they are seeking to elevate.

The South African Coca-Cola Popstars will be airing on SABC3 in July.
