A bad time to call police THE problems experienced by Mr and Mrs Bartleman (“Where were city’s police?”, Herald September 2) highlights the fact that there have been at least three instances during the past couple of weeks where the lack of response by the police to criminal acts has been attributed to changes in shifts. This sounds too much of a coincidence by any standards and surely an efficient police force must have a certain mechanism in place to monitor calls during a change in shifts.... All have to fight crime HIDING behind ignorance of civic matters just won’t wash, Terry Herbst (“Govt’s job to fight crime”, Herald August 29). For one thing I keep myself abreast of what is happening in and around me.... Addo road has become deathtrap RECENTLY the Eastern Cape experienced some appalling weather which has left our roads in a state of needing repair. I can understand that this takes time to repair. However, there certainly is no excuse for the condition of the Addo road.... Why no cheaper car? A QUICK thought that hopefully someone from the car industry can answer.... |
