A bad time to call police

THE problems experienced by Mr and Mrs Bartleman (“Where were city’s police?”, Herald September 2) highlights the fact that there have been at least three instances during the past couple of weeks where the lack of response by the police to criminal acts has been attributed to changes in shifts. This sounds too much of a coincidence by any standards and surely an efficient police force must have a certain mechanism in place to monitor calls during a change in shifts....
