Soldier kills wife in street Pretoria – A sergeant- major in the SA National Defence Force allegedly shot his estranged wife at a bus stop outside 1 Military Hospital at Thaba Tshwane, police said yesterday. The wife, whose name has not been revealed, was in a critical condition at 1 Military Hospital after she was shot several times in the stomach, head and body, the police said. Her husband, whose name was also not released, then returned home and cut his wrists in a suicide attempt. He is in hospital under police guard. Police are investigating the incident. – Sapa
