Kabega retirement village target of armed robbery

Lee-Anne Butler HERALD REPORTER

RESIDENTS at the Louis Dubb retirement village in Port Elizabeth had a rude awakening when they were the targets of an early morning armed robbery.

Three men, wearing balaclavas and armed with knives, made off with car radios, an undisclosed amount of money, jewellery and mechanical tools in the robbery on Tuesday morning.

One elderly resident also had rings bitten off her finger. Her husband attacked the men and they fled.

Another resident at the retirement village in Kabega Park who did not want to be named, said she no longer felt safe there.

“They came in so easily. I had a friend visiting and her car was broken into,” said the woman.
