THE Chevrolet Warriors will have one eye on the weather ahead of their MTN40 final against the Nashua Dolphins at Buffalo Park tomorrow .

According to www.weathersa.co.za a 30% chance of rain has been predicted in East London for each of the next five days.

A reserve day has been set aside on Saturday should a result not be possible tomorrow night. But the Warriors face a serious problem if the game is forced into Saturday.

Jacques Kallis, Ashwell Prince, Mark Boucher, Johan Botha, Lonwabo Tsotsobe and Wayne Parnell would all be forced to withdraw as they have to meet up with the South African squad that day.

The Proteas leave OR Tambo International for their tour of India at around lunchtime on Saturday.

The Dolphins would suffer minimal disruption to their squad as only Hashim Amla is part of the national tour group.

Nevertheless, the Warriors have retained the squad that beat the Cape Cobras in last Friday’s semi-final.

The Warriors team is: Jacques Kallis, Ashwell Prince, Colin Ingram, Justin Kreusch, Mark Boucher, Davy Jacobs (capt), Johan Botha, Nicky Boje, Wayne Parnell, Rusty Theron, Jon-Jon Smuts, Makhaya Ntini, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Andrew Birch.

If the match is rescheduled for Saturday, players like Arno Jacobs, Garnett Kruger, Andrew Birch, Craig Thyssen and Lyall Meyer will come into the equation.

Meanwhile, there have also been some logistical issues in trying to get the seven Proteas involved in tomorrow’s final to Johannesburg in time for their 11am flight to India.

Apparently there are no available flights out of East London on Saturday morning. So, unless Cricket SA can charter a flight, the group may be forced to drive through the night to reach Johannesburg on time.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Province Amateur team will attempt to consolidate their position at the top of the CSA Provincial three-day competition when they take on their Namibian counterparts at Axxess DSL St George’s starting today.

The team for the three-day match is: Michael Price, Chad Baxter, Michael Smith (capt), Sean Adair, Kelly Smuts, Riaan Jeggels, Warren Bell, Lyall Meyer, Corbyn Dolley, Brandon Viret, Reece Williams. Siviwe Gidana, Athi Dyili and Umar Abrahams will come into the equation for the one-dayer on Sunday.
