Taking a break from the heavenly world of hotel living on the Seychelles island of Praslin, I wandered through the village where the locals live — to look at their gardens. 

The houses were ordinary, but in their yards, brightening their sun-drenched spaces, gorgeous orchids were growing freely without special care to perform. ..
