Spring is finally here and I don’t know about you, but I am feeling motivated and inspired to chase those personal goals as the days get longer and warmer.
One of those goals I set for 2025 was to take better care of myself.
As a working mom with two young boys, it is always easy to put everyone else first and I am afraid it is beginning to show.
I met Amanda Lee Bosch at an event and heard her talk about image consulting and the power it has to change your life.
She shared many inspiring stories from her clients.
For instance: “A man that wanted to elevate his style for a big promotion, and he got it after six months, or the women who call to say how it’s changed their relationship with their body because they are wearing things that make them feel fabulous.
“Through personalised image consulting, I help clients rediscover their confidence, elevate their style, and express who they truly are — inside and out.
“I don’t just change how people look — I change how they see themselves,” she said.
This could be exactly what I needed to get a spring in my step and to not rely solely on those mom jeans and sneakers.
I met Amanda for a two-hour consult recently. I was a bit apprehensive at first but Amanda is warm and so passionate about what she does that I immediately felt at ease.
I sat down in front of a mirror and bright lights, where she put me in a white cover to do a colour analysis.
She held several colours next to my face to see which suited me — and spring is my season.
The colours are divided into four categories, namely winter, autumn, spring and summer.
I have a warm undertone (think pink skin) and I am fair with blue eyes so I fit into the spring category.
There is a colour wheel for each category of colours that are best suited for your skin tone.
I looked at my colour wheel and I was shocked that my favourite colour (pink) is actually not my most flattering colour. The pink makes my face look even more pink.

I was pleased to see that most of the clothes and colours in my wardrobe are actually the colours I should be wearing. Except for black. This is not a colour that suits me.
Amanda, who started her image consulting business 15 years ago, then did my makeup according to my colouring.
Needless to say, the pink lipstick is gone and now I am investing in a coral colour.
She also wrote down all the makeup colours and brands she used on my face, which will help when I need to go shopping again.
She also spoke about my face shape and the style of glasses I can wear.
I have an oval shape so I can wear much anything, and we also spoke about hair styles and colour.
You can be a brunette or a blonde, as long as it is warm or cool according to your colouring.
I also received a colour swatch to make shopping for the right colours easier.
After the colour analysis, she did a body analysis.
The body analysis is all about the ratio of shoulders to hips. Not size.
Amanda did the measurements and we did a quick, fun questionnaire which reveals your clothing personality and allows you to enhance who you really are.
She said the figure analysis was all about the art of disguise and dressing for your figure shape.
“From tops, jackets, jewellery, handbags to pants, you will be taught how to wear these items and eliminate the drab and drudgery of what to wear.
“In this consult we also discuss the correct way to accessorise as this is the final touch to make sure you look perfectly groomed.
“This consult includes a full body analysis booklet with all the personal advice you will ever need to look great,” she said.
With my makeup done, booklet and swatch in hand, I left Amanda feeling confident and inspired to make more of an effort with myself.
It was so much fun and I would encourage anyone to go see Amanda.
