The Adams family is set to come together for a night of music, laughter and dance as they celebrate the 80th birthday of the family’s much-loved patriarch.

The heartfelt tribute concert titled Father Love will see artists and brothers Loukmaan and Emo Adams take to the stage in Gqeberha.

The unforgettable evening of music and dance will take the audience on a trip down memory lane as Loukmaan and Emo celebrate the legacy of their beloved father, Omar “Boeta Maan” Adams.

Through the show, they will also demonstrate the enduring power of family and their love through music.

Boeta Maan is no stranger to the city’s northern areas.

In the 1990s, his drama group, Kinders van die Ses (Children of the Six), regularly performed at the St Thomas High School auditorium in Gelvandale.

Boeta Maan founded the group in 1987, and at the same time refined the raw talent of locals, turning them into young artists.

Loukmaan and Emo, celebrated artists in their own right, have always cherished their father’s guidance and unwavering support throughout their careers.

Emo spent the majority of his teenage years singing in Cape Malay choirs and performing during festivals.

Though he went on to complete his tertiary education, his love for performing ultimately shaped his career path.

In 1996, together with his brother, they formed a five-member boy band called JAG.

“Our father has always been a pillar in our community and an inspiration to many,” Loukmaan said.

Emo added: “This concert is our way of honouring him and the successful careers he has helped us achieve.”

The event will take place on Saturday February 15 at Boardwalk’s International Convention Centre.

This follows a successful run at the iconic Artscape Opera House in Cape Town on January 22.

The show also features a popular line-up of special guest performers.

All these artists will pay homage to Boeta Maan’s profound impact on SA music and culture.

Known for his vibrant personality and musical legacy, Boeta Maan has inspired generations with his passion and creativity.

Therefore, the brothers said, this celebration would not only be a tribute to his life, but also a gathering of those touched by his artistry.

The concert promises to be an emotional journey filled with stories, laughter and soul-stirring performances.

Audiences can expect a mix of Boeta Maan’s classic hits and new collaborations, creating a night that resonates with love and nostalgia.

The event starts at 8pm and tickets can be bought online via Webtickets or at Pick n Pay stores.
