Following the announcement of home affairs’ relocation from North End, taxi routes to Baywest Mall are expected to be expanded to meet anticipated demand, and parking for private vehicles will be offered free of charge.
Baywest Mall marketing manager Lindsay Davies said public transport services had been engaged about the relocation.
“Baywest Mall has a large taxi rank located at entrance 2,” she said.
“The taxi rank serves most areas around the city and expands its routes from time to time, given demand.
“In addition, we have engaged with other public transport services to ensure they are well informed of the anticipated opening of home affairs.
“The frequency and routes will expand based on the demand.
“Home affairs customers using private transport will be entitled to free parking with their appointments throughout the week,” she said.
On Tuesday, home affairs spokesperson Thulani Mavuso said relocation plans were under way.
