To commemorate its 20th anniversary, the local Arise Women’s Conference is set to welcome more than 600 women to the Word of Faith Christian Centre at the weekend.
The conference, under the theme “Victorious”, will feature international guest speakers including Wyona Norman and Michelle Amy Norman, local pastor Abby Blignaut, as well as its founder, Pastor Mariana Crompton.
In addition to speakers and breakaway sessions, the much-loved annual Arise Thrift Shop will return to raise funds for local nonprofit organisation (NPO) Project Hope.
There will also be a variety of food trucks, health checks, beauty treatments and other stalls at the two-day event.
Crompton, who is also the founder of Project Hope, said the conference was designed specifically for women and was aimed at meeting their needs.
“Arise was built on the basis that the conference as a whole needs to be a positive, faith building, emotionally uplifting as well as ‘an exposure to excellence’ experience.
“The purpose of the conference is to let women know that they are valued and that each woman is uniquely designed by God for a purpose.
“Every year, the conference speakers are chosen, not only for their areas of expertise but for their personal success stories and the road they have travelled to become who they are today,” Crompton said.
Wyona Norman, who has faithfully served as a leader of multiple churches for 39 years, has pioneered the Revival Church movement alongside her husband.
She said there was a level of impartation and anointing one could only receive by attending the event.
“When hungry and thirsty people come together and they come with an expectation that God is going to speak, move, touch my life and I am determined I am going to leave the place different from when it started.
“This is where I want your expectation to be,” she said.
Michelle Amy Norman, who is currently involved in helping mothers and children with support, food and clothing, will share her powerful personal testimony for the first time at the conference.
