A multitalented artist from Gqeberha is making waves again after releasing his latest single on Friday.
Former Bethelsdorp High alumnus Andre Graham has just released Out the Blue, with Chaise Williams, which he hopes will elevate his career further.
The 25-year-old said on the back of the success of last single, Break of Dawn, he intended to release more music in the near future, collaborating with some of SA’s biggest artists.
“Music made my life worth living and gave justice to my being.
“I sing rock, pop and hip-hop.
“Though I am in a good space right now, I must admit I haven’t reached my peak yet.
“I believe there are bigger things in store for me,” he said.
Graham, who now lives in Cape Town, said his roots would always be in Gqeberha.
“I grew up in Bethelsdorp Extension 33, where we stayed for 18 years.
“We then moved to Gelvandale, and I have been living in Cape Town since 2022.
“When I started out in the entertainment circle, I was a dancer.
“In 2009, when Michael Jackson died, I was hooked to his style of dancing.
“It was only when I was 12 that I started to sing.
“I never looked back and now I am making music for a living. Singing is my life.”
He said he had a humble upbringing, losing his father as an 11-year-old and being brought up with his two siblings by their grandmother, uncle and aunt.
However, the former Strelitzia Primary School pupil encouraged the youth to grow beyond their circumstances.
“Where you come from does not define you or direct you in life.
“You have a will of your own and only you can decide if you want to be successful in life.
“I count my blessings every day and I am immensely grateful to Jesus Christ for taking me this far.
“Life is good and as long as the sun is shining, there is hope.
“My message for the young ones is that you must hold on to your dreams.
“No matter how hard it gets, keep going on.
“Stay positive and focus on your goal.
“It is a big world out there for everyone and nothing is impossible.
“Never stop praying,” he said, adding he wanted his family in Gqeberha to know he loves and appreciates them.
