The DA does not agree with the FF+ and ACDP supporting the ANC to stay in power and effectively doubling down on a losing hand.
Swapping one ANC mayor for another will not rescue Nelson Mandela Bay.
Of course, we have no confidence in this mayor ... but their whole deck is filled with jokers.
The only hope to get the Bay working is for the DA to win an outright majority come November.
No split pot, no coalition gamble.
The DA would have initiated a motion of no confidence at every opportunity if there was any chance that it would bring stability, safety, delivery and jobs for the people of this metro.
I assure you, there is no winning hand right now.
The numbers simply don’t add up, and the FF+ and ACDP want to hand victory back to the ANC?
We call their bluff and will not gamble with our shared future in the metro.
These parties with one or two seats destroyed the DA-led coalition because they were more interested in the full-time salaries of portfolio MMCs/speakers/mayors, having extra political support staff for their chommies, and so on, than in fixing the metro.
They cashed in early, and Nelson Mandela Bay is paying the price.
The only thing keeping the Bay from losing now is the DA refusing to fold on you.
We fight in council and committee before the DA wins in November.
The 2026 election is the last opportunity to unite behind a party with a trusted and tested history of good governance — or go bust.
The DA, led by Retief Odendaal, is the only party to bet on in November.
This election is not about what is going on at a national level.
This is about winning with someone with the passion, humility, integrity and competence who will grab the terrible hand and stay to get Nelson Mandela Bay working.
This year deals a choice between electricity and water, or none.
Repaired roads and working streetlights, or none.
Safety or crime.
Cleanliness or grime.
Corruption or honesty.
Job growth ... or more business shutdowns.
There is no middle bet here.
2026 is the final hand.
Only Nelson Mandela Bay voters hold the cards.
Don’t fold now —we won’t.
