It is all systems go for the popular Nelson Mandela Bay Choose to Challenge 10km run, according to the race organisers.
The race, organised by EP Athletics and the Legacy Project, will start and finish at the Baywest Mall on Saturday.
This comes after a three-year partnership was secured with Baywest.
The event was previously held at King Beach but later moved to Cillié High’s JJ Engelbrecht Sports Grounds.
Race director Michael Mbambani said preparations for the event had gone well.

“We are very interested to see how the race will go at our new venue, the Baywest Mall,” Mbambani said.
“We are also thankful to our new partner Baywest Mall management for awarding us this opportunity to host the event there. We are really looking forward to it.
“When you move as an event to a mall, you are actually trying to make sure that you are organising a family run.
“It is a family run. We have a kiddies 1km run, a 5km family run and we also have the main event over 10km.
“The mall is also a nice environment after you’ve finished your race to have coffee and do your shopping.
“Instead of always looking for high performance, we say this race is a family gathering event, where people can bring their children and enjoy the sport of running.”
Mbambani said they were aiming at 1,000 entries.
In the 2023 event, Melikhaya Frans successfully defended his title with an excellent performance and a chase to the finish line in 28:44, closely followed by Ikhamva Athletics Club teammate Thabang Mosiako, who clocked 28:51.
In the women’s race, Nedbank Running Club’s top local athlete, Kelly van Vliet, flew to the finish in 37:35, followed by Kayla Nell of Charlo AC in 38:44.
Entries can be handed in at Brian Bands Sports in Cape Road or in-store at Cellucity Baywest until 2pm on Wednesday.
