It is all systems go for the annual Best of the Best amateur boxing tournament, organisers say.
The two-day event, staged by the Thubalethu Boxing Club, will take place at the Tamboville Multipurpose Community Centre in KwaLanga.
Event organiser Mazizi Vumazonke said the boxing event would carter for both girls and boys in amateur boxing.
Vumazonke said the 10th edition of the event would feature 18-year-old Oyisa Wanga, from KwaNobuhle in Kariega, who had just returned from competing in Russia three weeks ago.

“Also, boxers who are African champions and are part of the SA national team will also be a part of this event,” Vumazonke said.
“The annual workshop for referees and judges will also take place this year, already we have 23 registered referees who will be here in NMB.
“This event has always been regarded as one of the biggest club tournaments in the country, because it involved other provinces and neighbouring countries from the start.
“This year, we have a team from Zimbabwe, which consists of boxers who are part of their national team.
“Lesotho will also be part of this year’s event.
“Locally, we have teams from Mdantsane, Qonce, Seymour, Bathurst, Makanda, Kirkwood, Nelson Mandela University and local clubs from Gqeberha.
“So far, we have about 221 registered boxers for the tournament.
“We are expecting our victors to arrive on Friday, with the event starting on Saturday and finishing on Sunday.
“This tournament gives our local boxers an opportunity to fight against boxers from other countries, so they can gain international experience.”
