The Dafabet Warriors will aim to build on the positive aspects of their last campaign and hold onto their top-flight status when they kick off the 2024/2025 season in the Division One CSA T20 Challenge in September.
After being in strong positions in all three domestic competitions last season, a dip in form, coupled with a lack of execution in critical moments, saw Robin Peterson’s men fall out of contention in each tournament.
This time around, the green and black army will go into battle looking to right the wrongs of their last campaign.
Starting in September, the Warriors host the Hollywoodbets Dolphins (September 29), then travel to face the DP World Lions (October 4) before returning to Gqeberha to face the newly promoted Knights on October 6.
Four more matches will follow against WSB Western Province, North West Dragons, Goldrush Boland and Momentum Multiply Titans between October 9 and 19, before the qualifier and elimination rounds commence on October 22.
They dive straight into their red ball obligations after the first white ball competition of the season, hosting the Dragons on October 29, before three consecutive matches on the road against Boland, WP and the Lions in November.
They return home in December for an encounter against the Titans before the mid-season break to accommodate the third edition of the SA20 competition.
Their season then takes a sharp left as they kick off the CSA 1-Day Cup with two away clashes against the Dolphins (February 16) and Knights (February 19) before hosting Boland on February 22.
Two away matches against the Dragons and Titans, followed by home games against WP and the Lions will conclude the round-robin phase of the tournament between February 26 and March 9.
They return to Nelson Mandela Bay in March and April for 4-Day clashes against the Knights and Dolphins to bring down the curtain on their red ball campaign.
“CSA is excited to announce the domestic fixtures for the upcoming season,” CSA chief executive Pholetsi Moseki said.
“This year’s schedule promises an exhilarating mix of matches that will showcase the depth of talent in South African cricket.
“The domestic competitions are a crucial platform for players to perform at their best and for fans to enjoy top-quality cricket.
“The team is also working hard behind the scenes to ensure the second season of the Women’s Professional League is bigger and better, reflecting our commitment to advancing women’s cricket in the country.
“We look forward to an action-packed season,” Moseki said.
