Highbury will be looking to continue with their winning form at home when they host struggling Lerumo United at the Gelvandale Stadium on Tuesday (3.30pm).

The Gqeberha side have been a force to be reckoned with at home.

They have consecutively won three of their previous home fixtures in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, with their most recent result a 5-1 drubbing of Milford.

They will be looking to make it four out of four when they face 16th-placed Lerumo.

Highbury will also be looking to come back from their 2-1 away defeat to Cape Town Spurs and also plan to move up the log.

The Yellow Nation are 10th on the log with 26 points from 10 matches.

Head coach David Sibiya plans to take advantage of the two upcoming home games against Lerumo and Pretoria Callies to improve their position as they target a top-three spot.

Highbury will play Callies at the Gelvandale Stadium on Friday (3.30pm).

“We have been preparing well,” Sibiya said.

“We are in our last 10 matches of the season, and we believe a win against Lerumo will get us close to the top three.

“Remember in our last fixture, if we had won we would be in the top five, so this win will get us closer to that.

“The players have been positive, now they see the possibility of getting to the top-three spot is more possible than before, when we wanted to make sure that we move a bit further from the teams that are below us.

“So, now we are looking forward to the game against Lerumo, which we believe is possible to win.

“We have been doing well at home, we are on three wins in a row at home.”

Sibiya said he was happy the team was hitting the target.

“We have been scoring goals at home, so we believe that we will win this match, we believe that we will continue with the good run of scoring goals.

“All that we have to do is to try our best to keep a clean sheet on Tuesday and work well together.

“We have been working hard on that at training and even during the friendlies that we have played, we tried our best to defend well.”
