Highbury are confident of finishing their Motsepe Foundation Championship season strongly with a win at home against Kruger United.
The fixture, their second last of the league programme and their final home game, takes place at the Gelvandale Stadium on Sunday (3pm).
The Gqeberha side have been a force to be reckoned with at home and hope to continue the good run against Kruger on Sunday.
Highbury coach Kabelo Sibiya is aware that Kruger, who are chasing a promotion playoffs berth, will not be easy opponents.
However, he is confident that his players will uphold their good standard at home.
“We are playing a team that is competing for the playoff spot,” Sibiya said.
“It’s not going to be an easy game. It’s a match where we need to bring our A game.
“We need to be at our best in that match. We want to finish the season well and we have an opportunity to do so.
“We are playing at home now before we go to and play away against Upington next week.
“The preparations are going very well, the guys are focused after a good draw last week against Venda.
“Venda came here desperate and threw everything at us and I believe we did very well to come back from a losing position and end up playing to a draw.
“I believe that we are in a good space now to win a football match.
“We will do our best in terms of preparing — we have done well this far.
“The mood in the camp is good, the guys are looking forward to the match.
“We believe that at home we have been a force, and we will still be a force. So, we believe that we will win on Sunday.”
The Yello Nation are 10th on the log with 35 points.
They have played 28 matches, winning nine, drawing eight and losing 11 with 28 goals for and 27 against.
Victories over Kruger and Upington could see them finish in the top eight in their debut Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign.
